The major construction projects Halifax Water is currently undertaking

Halifax is one of Canada’s oldest cities, and with that comes ageing water and sewer infrastructure that needs renewal.

Between 2019 and 2049, Halifax Water plans to invest about $4 billion to upgrade infrastructure to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality water, wastewater and stormwater services to benefit our customers and the environment. Below are some of the projects currently underway at Halifax Water.

Cathedral Lane Sewer Separation

As part of our ongoing commitment to communicating with customers and the local community, Halifax Water would like to inform you that we are completing a sewer separation project on Cathedral Lane, Halifax, between University Avenue and Spring Garden Road.

Middle Musquodoboit - Watermain Replacement

As part of our ongoing commitment to communicating with customers and the local community, Halifax Water would like to inform you that we are completing a water main replacement on Higginsville Road, Middle Musquodboit. This work is part of the utility's 30-year, $4 billion investment commitment to improving aging water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
