The major construction projects Halifax Water is currently undertaking

Halifax is one of Canada’s oldest cities, and with that comes ageing water and sewer infrastructure that needs renewal.

Between 2019 and 2049, Halifax Water plans to invest about $4 billion to upgrade infrastructure to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality water, wastewater and stormwater services to benefit our customers and the environment. Below are some of the projects currently underway at Halifax Water.

Lewis Street Water Main Replacement

As part of our ongoing commitment to communicating with customers and the local community, Halifax Water would like to inform you that we are replacing the water main that provides water service to Lewis Street, Halifax. This work is part of the utility's 30-year, $4 billion investment commitment to improving aging water, wastewater and stormwater systems.

Maynard Lake & Clement St. Infrastructure Upgrades

Halifax Water is currently in the planning phase of a future project that will separate stormwater discharge from the wastewater system in and around the Maynard Lake area and Clement Street. This work is part of the utility's 30-year, $4 billion investment commitment to improving aging water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
