Connaught Avenue – Water Main Repair
Halifax Water crews are on-site undertaking an emergency water main repair near 3200 Connaught Avenue, Halifax. Water service will be temporarily shut down in this area. No estimate of service restoration time.
There will be a lane drop in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks will be closed.
Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.
Traffic Advisory – Newton Avenue
Beginning the week of April 22, construction work will begin on Newton Avenue, Halifax between Chebucto Road and Quinpool Road. Impacted water service customers have been notified in advance of this work.
Construction will take place from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays. During this work, Newton Avenue will be closed to all traffic in sections between Chebucto Road and Quinpool Road, and local traffic only on Newton Avenue. A detour will be in place. The sidewalks will remain open along one side of the road.
This project is expected to be completed in September 2024.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
Traffic Advisory – King Fisher Way
Starting Monday, February 12, Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be performing wastewater infrastructure upgrades near King Fisher Way, Lower Sackville. This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area. This work will continue until May 14.
King Fisher Way near the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue will have brief periods of traffic disruption throughout the duration of the project. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.
Motorists are reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
