The agreement still needs to be ratified by CUPE Local 1431 members and approved by the Halifax Water Board.

Halifax Water General Manager Carl Yates said, “Reaching this tentative agreement puts the utility and CUPE Local 1431 members on a sound path for the future. This is excellent news for our customers and employees.”

CUPE 1431 President Joel Haley stated, “The bargaining team would like to thank the membership for standing behind us throughout this process. We would not have gotten here without your support.”

Details of the agreement will not be released until both sides have ratified the agreement.
