Following a national search, Halifax Board Chair Darlene Fenton is pleased to announce Cathie O’Toole, BA, MBA, CPA, CGA, ICD.D, as the successful candidate for the position of General Manager at Halifax Water.
Ms. Fenton said, “Ms. O’Toole brings a wealth of experience to her new role. For the last eight years Cathie has served as Halifax Water’s Director of Corporate Services/CFO, held senior roles with the Halifax Municipality as Director of Finance/CFO and Director of Infrastructure and Asset Management. Cathie has also served on a number of Boards and Committees and enjoys volunteering in her community.”
Ms. O’Toole said, “I am honoured to take on the role of General Manager for Halifax Water. The utility has a proud legacy of providing world class water, wastewater and stormwater services to our customers. I look forward to continuing that legacy and working to ensure we are on the leading edge of customer service and environmental protection.”
Ms. O’Toole’s start date in her new role is June 17th, 2019.
The search for a new General Manger follows the retirement announcement in July 2018 of Carl Yates.
