Bell Road – Stormwater System Maintenance
From 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM tomorrow, Thursday, November 21, Halifax Water crews will perform an emergency repair to the stormwater system on Bell Road between Summer Street and Sackville Street, Halifax.
There will be a lane reduction inbound in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalk will not be impacted.
This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
Jubilee Road – Emergency Water Shut-Off
Due to third-party construction work, Halifax Water crews have temporarily shut off water service on Jubilee Road between Oxford Street and Larch Street, Halifax. No estimate of service restoration time.
Benview Drive – Water Main Repair
Halifax Water crews are on-site undertaking an emergency water main repair near 15 Benview Drive, Dartmouth. Water service will be temporarily shut down in this area. No estimate of service restoration time.
Local traffic only on Benview Drive. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.

Windsor Junction Road – Water Line Repair
Halifax Water crews are on-site undertaking an emergency water line repair near 608 Windsor Junction Road, Windsor Junction. Water service will be temporarily shut down in this area. No estimate of service restoration time.
There will be stop-and-go traffic in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.

Traffic Advisory – Spring Garden Road
From November 18 to November 20 (weather dependent), Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology near Spring Garden Road and South Park Street, Halifax. This work will not impact Halifax Water Services in the area.
This work will take place from:
- 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on November 18 and November 20.
- 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM on November 19.

Lake Major Water Conservation Measures
A prolonged period of low precipitation has resulted in lower-than-normal water levels in Lake Major. Lake Major is the water supply that serves the communities of Dartmouth, Burnside, Cole Harbour, Westphal, North Preston and Eastern Passage (see attached map for affected service areas). Customers may use this interactive map to determine if they are serviced by the Lake Major water supply.
In order to conserve water, Halifax Water is requesting that all residents and businesses supplied by the Lake Major Water Supply Plant follow voluntary water conservation measures until further notice. These measures include:
