Alderney Drive – Stormwater System Upgrades

Halifax Water would like to inform residents that, due to unexpected construction delays, the upgrades at the intersection of Alderney Drive and Dundas Street will open fully to two-way traffic in two stages beginning next week.  

These intersection upgrades are part of the Sawmill Creek Stormwater Project.

Cathedral Lane – Sewer Separation

Beginning on Monday, July 14 at 7:00 AM until Friday, July 18 at 6:00 PM, Dexter Construction will complete storm pipe work for the Cathedral Lane Sewer Separation project on behalf of Halifax Water. 
 
During this time, the following pedestrian and vehicle traffic control will be in place:

Collins Drive – Emergency Water Shut-Off

Due to third-party construction, Halifax Water crews have temporarily shut off water service near Collins Drive and Carlheath Drive, Wellington, to facilitate water system repairs. No estimate of service restoration time.   

Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this repair. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.   

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

Orchard Street - Water Valve Installation

From 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 17 Halifax Water crews will be on-site installing a water valve near 53 Orchard Street, Bedford. 

Water services will be impacted by this installation. The area highlighted on the map will either have no water or low water pressure during this installation. 

There will be stop-and-go traffic in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. Sidewalks will not be impacted.

Bayers Road - Wastewater System Maintenance
