Halifax Water would like to inform residents that, due to unexpected construction delays, the upgrades at the intersection of Alderney Drive and Dundas Street will open fully to two-way traffic in two stages beginning next week.
These intersection upgrades are part of the Sawmill Creek Stormwater Project.
The following traffic control will still be in place:
- On Monday, July 14, Alderney Drive between Kings Street and civic #90 Alderney Drive will open fully to two-way traffic.
- On Thursday, July 17, Alderney Drive between civic #176 Portland Street and King Street will open to two-way traffic, with lane reductions in place.
- This work will continue to impact Halifax Transit routes. For more information about Halifax Transit disruptions, visit halifax.ca/transit.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
