Traffic Advisory – Alderney Drive – Stormwater System Upgrades 

Due to unexpected construction delays, the upgrades at the intersection of Alderney Drive and Dundas Street must be extended until July 11, 2025.

Halifax Water would like to inform residents that, due to unexpected construction delays, the upgrades at the intersection of Alderney Drive and Dundas Street must be extended until July 11, 2025.  

These intersection upgrades are part of the Sawmill Creek Stormwater Project.
  
The following traffic control will still be in place:  

  • Outbound lanes will be closed on Alderney Drive from Portland Street to Portland Street  
  • Traffic will primarily be detoured via Portland Street  
  • Alderney Drive from King Street to Portland Street (inbound direction) will remain open  
  • Canal Street, between Portland Street and 11 Canal Street will remain closed  

This work will continue to impact Halifax Transit routes. For more information about Halifax Transit disruptions, visit halifax.ca/transit.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.    
  
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
