Attention motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, Halifax Water crews have detected a leak in a water main near 4166 Highway#2 at Collins Drive in Wellington and will be undertaking a water main repair.

This repair work will require a water service shutdown at approximately 2pm for customers on Collins Drive, Anthony Avenue, Carlheath Drive, Jeffrey Lane, Brook Street, Day Hollow Drive and sections of Highway#2. There will be stop and go traffic in the work zone. No estimate of service restoration at this time.

Customers should ensure they have sufficient water during this repair by filling any empty containers for toilet flushing, hand washing, drinking, cooking and other hygiene purposes. Customers should also turn off their hot water tank to prevent back-siphonage that can lead to damage.

Experienced traffic control personnel are on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
