Water Service & Traffic Advisory – Bedford Highway

UPDATE: Due to an unplanned complication in this work, water service will be interrupted earlier than planned for customers within the impacted area between Convoy Run and Hammonds Plains Road at ~6:30 PM today until the work is complete.

 

UPDATE Water Service & Traffic Advisory – Bedford Highway & Hammonds Plains Road – Water Valve Replacement

 

From noon on Saturday, October 22, to 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 23, Halifax Water crews will be replacing critical water valves on the Bedford Highway in the Mill Cove area.

Traffic Impacts
During this work, there will be stop-and-go traffic near the following intersections:

  • Bedford Highway and Moirs Mill Road, and;
  • Bedford Highway and Convoy Run/Holland Avenue.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows. This work will not impact sidewalks.

Water Service Impacts
In an effort to reduce the impact of this work on local residents and businesses, this water service interruption has been planned to take place overnight during the times below. Water service will be temporarily shut down in the areas shown on the attached map from 11:00 PM on Saturday, October 22, to noon on Sunday, October 23.

Customers in the area may experience discoloured water during/following this work. It is recommended that those customers run the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. To learn more about discoloured water and to report it, please visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.
