Our crews are on site for an emergency water main repair due to third-party construction activity on Roosevelt Drive near Chebucto. This is a transmission main and will disrupt service to portions of the Halifax Peninsula.
We are estimating that for the next 2 -3 hours, customers may have no water or very little pressure as crews shut down the broken water main for repair and the system repressurizes. There are 20-30 customers in the area close to the break that may have no water until the break is repaired.
Customers are advised that this may also result in water discolouration as water is restored. So, we recommend running the COLD water at one faucet until the water runs clear. Customers can learn more about discoloured water and when to report it at www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.
