From May 23 to May 25 (weather dependent), Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology near the intersection of Windmill Road and Wright Avenue, Dartmouth.
This work will take place from:
- 6:00 PM on Friday, May 23 to 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 24.
- 6:00 PM on Saturday, May 24 to 10:00 AM on Sunday, May 25.
Traffic Impacts for the duration of this work:
- There will be a lane reduction on Windmill Road between Bancroft Drive and Dundee Lane, Dartmouth.
- There will be a lane reduction in the left turning lane on Wright Avenue at the intersection with Windmill Road, Dartmouth.
- There will be a lane reduction on Windmill Road between Seapoint Road and Bancroft Drive Dartmouth.
CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with resin and then cured using UV light or steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
