Traffic Advisory – Tulip Street, Dartmouth

This area is open to local traffic only during this work
Published: 1:25 PM | October 28, 2022

From 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on November 2 & 3 (weather dependent), rolling sections of Tulip Street, Dartmouth, will be open to local traffic only for wastewater system maintenance. Detours will be in place.

This work will not impact water service in the area.

Clean Water Works Canada, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology in this area.

CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured using steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
