From November 18 to November 20 (weather dependent), Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology near Spring Garden Road and South Park Street, Halifax. This work will not impact Halifax Water Services in the area.

This work will take place from:

  • 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on November 18 and November 20.
  • 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM on November 19.

Traffic Impacts for the duration of this work:

  • There will be a lane reduction on Spring Garden Road near the intersection with Cathedral Lane, Halifax. Two-way traffic will be maintained, and sidewalks will remain open.
  • There will be a lane reduction on South Park Street near the intersection with Spring Garden Road, Halifax. Two-way traffic will be maintained, and sidewalks will remain open.

CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured using UV light or steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
