From 6:00 PM on Monday, June 2 to 7:00 AM on Tuesday, June 3 (weather dependent), the following traffic impacts will be in place for wastewater system maintenance:
- There will be a lane reduction in the left turning lane on Robie Street near the intersection with College Street, Halifax.
- There will be a lane reduction on College Street between Robie Street and Carlton Street, Halifax.
This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.
Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology
CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with resin and then cured using UV light or steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
