From 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28 to 6:00 AM on Thursday, May 29 (weather dependent) Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology near the intersection of Bayers Road and Connolly Street, Halifax.
Traffic Impacts for the duration of this work:
- Connolly Street between Bayers Road and Young Street will be open to local traffic only.
- There will be a lane reduction on Bayers Road near the intersection with Connolly Street.
CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with resin and then cured using UV light or steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
