Hours of work will be 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Published:

Attention motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, Halifax Water will be undertaking a water main repair tomorrow (Friday, May 8th), near 123 Rosedale Avenue in Halifax.

This work will require a water service shutdown. Crews will try to maintain stop and go traffic in the work zone, but a full road closure may be required near 123 Rosedale Avenue. Hours of work will be 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Sidewalk access will be maintained.

Customers should ensure they have sufficient water during this period by filling any empty containers for toilet flushing, hand washing, drinking, cooking and other hygiene purposes. Customers should also turn off their hot water tank to prevent back-siphonage that can lead to damage.

Experienced traffic control personnel are on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
