Oxford Street/Coburg Road – Water Main Work

Work will take place overnight on May 12-13 and May 13-14, 2019

Attention motorists, Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water will be undertaking water main work in the intersection of Oxford Street and Coburg

Road in the overnight hours of Monday, May 13th and Tuesday, May 14th.  

 

This work will take place in two phases:

  • Sunday, May 12th 6:00 PM – Monday, May 13th 7:00 AM
  • Monday, May 13th 7:00 PM –Tuesday, May 14th 7:00 AM

There will be stop and go traffic in the work zone (see attached work zone map). Traffic lights in the intersection will be shut down during this work. Pedestrian access will be maintained. There will be water service shutdowns inside of the above work hours. Properties impacted by the water service shutdown have received written notice.

An additional shutdown of the traffic lights at Oxford Street and Coburg Road will take place Monday May 13th between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM to facilitate a natural gas main relocation.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
