Attention motorists and cyclists, Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology.
This work will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
This work requires lane drops in the intersection of Willet Street and Lacewood Drive (see attached map.) Sidewalks and crosswalks will remain open and operational.
CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured using UV light. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones. Pedestrian traffic will not be impacted.
There will be no loss of water, wastewater, or stormwater services.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
