Lacewood Drive - Wastewater System Maintenance

Published: 8:32 PM | November 30, 2020

Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking trenchless wastewater system rehabilitation work tomorrow (Tuesday, December 1st) on Lacewood Drive in Halifax.

This work will take place on Lacewood Drive between Stoneybrook Court and Braeside Lane from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM on Tuesday. There will be lane drops in the work zone. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Sidewalks will remain open. Bus stops in the work zone will open. Passengers will enter and exit the bus via a path from the bus stop through the construction site to the temporary access zone.

Trenchless/CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured by ultraviolet light. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic and residents than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work.

There will be no loss of water, wastewater or stormwater services.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
