Insituform Technologies, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking trenchless wastewater system rehabilitation work Saturday, November 14 on Gottingen Street in Halifax.

PSA Map Gottingen Street - Wastewater System Maintenance

This work will take place on Gottingen Street between Young Street and Kaye Street from 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM on Saturday. There will be lane drops and stop and go traffic in the work zone. Traffic lights will be shut down at the intersection of Gottingen Street and Young Street. See the attached work zone map. Sidewalk access will be maintained.

Trenchless/CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then steam cured. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic and residents than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work.

There will be no loss of water, wastewater or stormwater services.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
