Halifax Water will be undertaking scheduled wastewater system maintenance tonight (Tuesday, August 11th) near 5151 George Street in Halifax.
This work will take place tonight from 5:30 PM – 12:00 midnight and will require the closure of George Street between Hollis Street and Lower Water Street. The sidewalks will remain open. See attached work zone map. There will be no loss of municipal services.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.
