This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.

From 6:00 PM on Monday, June 2 to 6:00 AM on Tuesday, June 3 (weather dependent) Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology near the intersection of Robie Street and College Street, Halifax.

Traffic Impacts for the duration of this work:

  • There will be stop-and- go traffic on College Street between Robie Street and Carlton Street
  • There will be a lane reduction inbound on Robie Street near the intersection with College Street

CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with resin and then cured using UV light or steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.

This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
