Attention motorists, Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water will be undertaking water main work on Coburg Road beginning Tuesday, May 14th.
This work will require the closure of Coburg Road at the intersection of Oxford Street from Tuesday, May 14th, 9:00 AM – Tuesday, May 28th, 5:00 PM. (See attached work zone map).
During this closure, a temporary one lane roadway between Connrose Avenue and Coburg Road will be open for local traffic access to Coburg Road. There will be stop and go traffic on the temporary one lane roadway. Pedestrian access will be maintained via a gravel pathway adjacent to the temporary roadway.
Experienced traffic control personnel will direct traffic on the roadway during the day. Traffic lights will control traffic in the evenings. On-site personnel will maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Motorists are asked to use alternate routes and expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
