Bayers Road & Connaught Avenue – Lane Closures

The typical hours of work will be from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM from Monday to Friday

Attention motorists and cyclists, Eastern Trenchless, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology.

This work will take place from Tuesday, March 17, 2020, until Tuesday, March 31, 2020. The typical hours of work will be from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM from Monday to Friday.

Bayers Road will maintain two open inbound lanes between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM. Connaught Avenue will maintain two open outbound lanes between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.

This work will require rolling lane drops on sections of Bayers Road and Connaught Avenue (see attached map.)

CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with a resin and then cured using UV light. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones. Pedestrian traffic will not be impacted.

There will be no loss of water, wastewater, or stormwater services.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
