Halifax Water contacts customers to schedule water meter replacements for a number of reasons.
Most commonly, the water meter is no longer transmitting water consumption data and needs to be inspected or replaced by a Halifax Water employee.
How will Halifax Water contact me?
Halifax Water staff will do one or both of the following:
- Call the customer directly using the phone number listed on the account;
- Leave a notice on the door of the property requesting that the customer call Halifax Water to book an appointment.
- During this process, staff will also knock on the door to offer more information in person and to offer the meter inspection or replacement at that time.
If Halifax Water has contacted you regarding a water meter inspection or replacement, please call 902-420-9287.
Why would my water meter need to be inspected or replaced?

Halifax Water also does periodic water meter testing to ensure they are accurately measuring water usage.
