As part of our ongoing commitment to communicating with customers and the local community, Halifax Water would like to inform you that we are upgrading the water main on Coburg Road, Halifax, from CN Rail to the end of Coburg Road. This work is part of the utility's 30-year, $4 billion investment commitment to improving aging water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
Harbour Construction Limited will be completing this project on behalf of Halifax Water. The safety of staff, contractors and the public is our top priority during this work.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
During this work there will be a lane drop on Coburg Road, with stop-slow signs.
This project will begin on July 15 and is expected to be completed by October 2024. Typical hours of work will be 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
This work will involve excavation in the street to install the new water main. Following pipe installation, the work areas will be restored – including repaving the impacted sections of the street (curb to curb) and any impacted property. See the attached map for the entire project area. Traffic control personnel will be on-site during this construction to manage traffic flows.
