From 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 11, Harbour Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be completing a water main replacement on Newton Avenue. Impacted water service customers were notified in advance of this work.
Newton Avenue will be closed to all traffic from Quinpool Road and open to local traffic only. A detour will be in place. Sidewalks within the work zone will be closed. Additionally, there will be a lane reduction on Quinpool Road in the work zone. Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to manage traffic flows.
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
