Traffic Advisory – South Park St. & University Ave

On Monday, July 4, part of the South Park Street and University Avenue intersection will reopen to one-way travel from University Avenue to Morris Street through this intersection.

Two-way traffic will resume on South Park Street between Spring Garden Road and Clyde Street.

The following areas will continue to be open to local traffic only:

  • South Park Street between Clyde Street and the project area near University Avenue
  • Morris Street heading west from Brenton Street to the project area approaching South Park Street.

Hospital parking will continue to be accessible south of the project area heading north on South Park Street.

There will be cycle lane and pedestrian route detours through/around this work.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

As part of this work, Halifax Water is replacing aging water mains and separating stormwater discharge from the wastewater system around South Park Street and University Avenue. Learn more at https://halifaxwater.ca/project/south-park-university.

This project is part of the utility's 30-year, $4 billion investment commitment to improving aging water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
