Updated: 12:42 PM | June 10, 2021

Halifax Water crews have completed the water valve repair near 510 Herring Cove Road.

Stop and go traffic will remain in place near 510 Herring Cove Road until 4:00 PM while crews restore the work zone. Customers in the area will experience temporary low pressure while the water main refills and returns to normal operating pressure.

Some customers in the area may also experience temporarily low-pressure discoloured water. If discolouration occurs, run the COLD water at one faucet for about 10 minutes. You should see the water clear. Do not use the hot water faucet since this will draw discoloured water into your hot water heater/tank, which could make the problem worse. If the water fails to clear after 10 minutes, wait for a few hours and again try running only the cold water. To learn more about discoloured water, visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.

Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
