On Thursday, April 23, 2020, Halifax Water crews will undertake work to repair a fire hydrant valve near Agincourt Crescent, Cole Harbour.
This work will require a water service shutdown between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM affecting civics 5 – 79 Agincourt Crescent, as well as 46 and 56 Avondale Road (see attached map).
Customers should ensure they have sufficient water during this period by filling any empty containers for toilet flushing, hand washing, drinking, cooking and other hygiene purposes. Customers should also turn off their hot water tank to prevent back-siphonage that can lead to damage.
During and following the repair, customers may experience discoloured water. To learn more about what to do if your water is discoloured, visit: www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water
Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
