Halifax Water wishes to advise that the precautionary boil water advisory issued at 8:00 pm on Saturday, April 20, for customers in Middle Musquodoboit has been lifted, effective 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 25.

The water will be safe for consumption and use after impacted customers complete the following steps:

  • Flush any cold water taps for ten minutes.
  • Most kitchen and other household water filters typically do not remove bacteria or viruses; please follow the manufacturer's instructions for maintenance on these units.
  • Fridges or other appliances that may store water should also be flushed for ten minutes.
  • Dispose of any ice that was made by an ice maker or ice cube tray during the precautionary boil water advisory.

To lift the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory, Halifax Water began testing water in the system on Sunday morning and has been reporting the results to Nova Scotia Environment and the Medical Officer of Health.

Based on several rounds of testing, all drinking water samples meet the requirements established by the regulator, and hence, by way of this notice, the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been lifted.

We thank you for your cooperation and patience as we worked through this event.
