Halifax Water will be undertaking water valve replacement work on Gottingen Street beginning the morning of Saturday, October 17.
This work will take place on Gottingen Street near the intersection of North Street beginning 7:00 AM Saturday, October 17 and continue overnight with completion scheduled for approximately 7:00 AM Sunday, October 18. Traffic lights will be shut down in the intersection and there will be stop and go traffic in the work zone. The sidewalk will be closed in the work zone. See the attached work zone map for details.
As a result of this work, some residents may experience reduced water pressure and/or temporarily discoloured water. Residents can check the online interactive map below to see if they’re in the low pressure or temporarily discoloured areas. To learn more about discoloured water, visit www.halifaxwater.ca/discoloured-water.
Experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.
For the safety of work crews and residents, please maintain social/physical distancing requirements of at least 2 metres/6 feet.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.
