As part of our ongoing commitment to communicating with customers and the local community, Halifax Water would like to inform you that we are completing wastewater infrastructure upgrades near Kingfisher Way, Lower Sackville. This work is part of the utility's 30-year, $4 billion investment commitment to improving aging water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
Dexter Construction will be completing this project on behalf of Halifax Water. The safety of staff, contractors and the public is our top priority during this work.
This work is expected to begin the week of March 19, 2024, continuing until approximately May 14. Typical hours of work will be 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
This work will involve excavation in the street to install the new water main and excavation in the right of way to replace/reconnect the public sections of service laterals. Following pipe installation, the work areas will be restored – including repaving the impacted sections of the street and any impacted property. Traffic control personnel will be on-site during this construction to manage traffic flows.
