As part of our ongoing commitment to communicating with customers and the local community, Halifax Water would like to inform you that we are completing repairs on the interior and exterior of the Beaver Bank Reservoir located at 20 Monarch in Beaver Bank, NS. This work is part of the utility's 30-year, $4 billion investment commitment to improving aging water, wastewater and stormwater systems.
MacDonald Applicators will be completing this project on behalf of Halifax Water. The safety of staff, contractors and the public is our top priority during this work.
To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
During this work, there will be construction traffic between Monach Drive and Majestic Avenue accessing the reservoir. Traffic control measures will not be required, the road and sidewalk will remain open for the duration of the work.
Preparation work for this project will begin on May 6, 2024, with the project expected to be completed in August, 2024. Typical hours of work will be between 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with the possibility of weekend work.
This work will involve interior coating replacement, replacement of the interior inlet pipe, installing a new electric mixing system to prevent ice buildup, exterior maintenance repairs and overcoating, and miscellaneous safety upgrades
