Herring Cove Road & Armdale Rotary - Wastewater System Maintenance

This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.
Published:

From 7:00 PM on Friday, January 16 until Monday, January 19 at 5:00 AM, the following traffic impacts will be in place for wastewater system maintenance:

  • The Armdale Rotary will be reduced to one lane.
  • There will be an outbound lane closure on Herring Cove Road from the Armdale Rotary to Purcells Cove Road.
    • Detours will be in place.
    • See map for further details.
    • Sidewalks in the work zone will be closed.
  • Armshore Drive and Windermere Drive are open to local traffic only.
  •

This work will not impact Halifax Water services in the area.

Clean Water Works, on behalf of Halifax Water, will be undertaking wastewater system maintenance through cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) trenchless lining technology.

CIPP lining involves reinforcing the inside of ageing underground pipes with a fabric liner that is saturated with resin and then cured using UV light or steam. This process is significantly less intrusive to traffic than traditional open-trench excavations for pipe replacement work that would otherwise need to be done.

Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure improvement work may cause.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
